Sunday, June 5, Oak Forrest No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church in Adolphus, for decoration services beginning at 10:30 a.m. with preaching and singing. Lunch will be served around the noon hour and more singing in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Also singing will be Gospel Sounds Bluegrass Gospel Group from Glasgow.

Health Problems hit the Turner Family!

Lois Turner of the Turner Family had some test ran on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. The test showed that she has a tumor in her colon. These test were ran at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. The doctor took a biopsy of the tumor. We will find out on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 if the tumor is malignant. Our family would request for you to take Lois to the Lord in prayer. If it is God's will, let this tumor not be malignant. We know that the power of prayer can change things. However, what ever Gods will, we pray for strength to stand strong during this trying time. In advance, we would like to thank you for your prayers.

The Turner Family will sing Sunday, June 6 at Oak Forrest No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church in Adolphus for decoration services. Preaching will be at 10:30, lunch will be served around the noon hour and singing in the afternoon at 1:30. Also, Heart and Soul Trio from Louisville will sing also.

On Saturday, June 12, at 7 PM, Barber Way General Baptist Church, located off of Smallhouse Rd., in Bowling Green, will have a singing with the Turner Family. Pastor is Joey Boyd. Come and expect a great service.

Upcoming Singings for The Turner Family

The Turner Family ask that you remember the Hargis Family and the
Summers Family. Both families lost dear ladies and will be missed by
everyone who knew them.

The Turner Family will sing Sunday, November 1 at Drakes Creek
Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin at 2 PM for a benefit singing for
Bobby Joe Cowles who has cancer. There will be other groups singing
also.

The 2nd Annual Gospel Singing for the children of Appalachian Mountains
will be Saturday, November 7 at Gospel Outreach Church at 6 PM in
Scottsville. The Turner Family, Heart & Soul Trio, Shepherdsville; and
the Coulters, Scottsville will sing.

The benefit will collect non-perishable food items and toys for the
children. Good, clean, slightly used coats or other clothing will be
accepted also. In the mountain region of KY, the economy is at an all
time low, worse than the rest of the country. Kids are going cold,
hungry & without new toys & (Christmas Dinners) food on Christmas Day.
All donations are greatly appreciated. This is sponsored by Gospel

Upcoming Singings

The Turner Family will sing at Trinity Pentecostal Church in the Davis
Crossroads community outside of Morgantown on Saturday, October 3 at 7
PM.

The Turner Family will be singing at the Macon Co. Jail in Lafayette,
TN, for Sis. Wendy Hinton's weekly jail service on Tuesday, October 6
at 7 PM. Bro. Jay Phelps will be preaching also. This will be the
second time that the Turner Family has sung for the all-women service.

Revival Services are being held at Minor's Lane Baptist Church in
Louisville, KY. The Turner Family will sing on Saturday, October 10 at
5 PM.

The Turner Family will be special guests at Garrett's Creek General
Baptist Church (just across the Tennessee/Kentucky State Line on Hwy.
31 E) for homecoming services on Sunday, October 11 at 10 AM. There
will be a full day with preaching, dinner on the ground and singing in
the afternoon.

As mentioned earlier in another post, The Kentucky State Gospel Singing
will be held at the Cave City Convention Center, Cave City, KY, on
Friday, October 16, 6 PM; and Saturday, October 17, 5:30 PM. Each
night will consist of different soloists, duets, trios and groups. The
Turner Family will be singing Saturday night. Stop by our booth and
register for some neat door prizes and new item we have just received
especially for the convention.

The Turner Family will sing Saturday, October 24 at Old Liberty House
of Prayer, Maxwell Dr., in Scottsville at 6 PM for the "Joe Hargis
Memorial Sing." Bro. Joe passed away in 2007 and normally had a big
singing in July for the past 12 years. Due to circumstances beyond our
control, the singing has not been held for two years. Come and expect
a good time in the Lord at this singing.

The Turner Family will sing for the residents of Morgantown Care and
Rehab on Saturday, September 5 at 6:30 PM.

Bro. Jay Phelps will be preaching at 10 AM for homecoming services at
United Trinity Pentecostal Church on Sunday, September 6. The Turner
Family will sing also during the morning and afternoon services.

Pastor Owen Minix of Gospel Outreach Church in Scottsville, will host
a "Family and Friends Appreciation Picnic" on Sunday, September 6 at
4:30 PM, at the first picnic shelter entering Barren River State Park
and Lodge. The Turner Family will provide a short signing and enjoy in
on the fun and fellowship.

The Turner Family will return to the Louisville, KY area on Saturday,
September 12 and sing at Hilltop General Baptist Church in
Shepherdsville at 7 PM (E).

On Sunday, September 13, the Turner Family will sing at the Christian
Worship Center in Horse Cave, KY, at 6 PM. Pastor Danny Sellee invites
everyone to attend.

The Turner Family will sing for homecoming services on Sunday,
September 20 at Centertown Holiness Tabernacle Church at 1:30 PM.

For many years, The Turner Family has sung for the Faith Assembly
Pentecostal Church's Annual Convention. This year is no different. We
will be returning for their 40th year celebration. We will be singing
on Saturday, September 26 for their 2 and 6 PM services. Bro. Jay
Phelps may be sharing a message from God's word for one of these
services.

The Turner Family are making plans for the annual Kentucky State Gospel
Singing Convention scheduled for October 16 and 17. Check our blogspot

I just found out yesterday that my ex-stepson, Kane Martin may have bone cancer; he is 14 years old and also has had juvenile diabetes for years. Kane’s doctor is 90% sure that this cancer is Osteo Sarcoma. He is scheduled to have a biopsy done next Wednesday and within 8 to 10 days they will know for sure if it is cancerous. Please pray that God heals Kane’s body and gives him and his family strength during this time! Thank you for your prayers

i have an urgent prayer request. i have a very good friend that attends our church, his 3-year-old son wasn't feeling good so they were on their way to the hospital when he had a seizure and stopped breathing. last i heard, he was breathing and crying but still no word on his condition. my friend is Tim and Jessica Watkins. their son is Darren Watkins. Please keep this family in your prayers. God is able. Pray for Tim and Jessica, they are very upset. thank you so much, there's power in prayer.

We have some medical news to share with our many friends. James, the leader of this group has been having some problems with breathing and pain to his chest. He has been to the Doctor for test and they believe he has some blockage to his heart. On January 2, 2008 James will have the scope ran up to his heart to see just what is going on. Hopefully they will not find anything but they are looking to see if he will need a stint or even open heart surgery. I am asking you all to get hold of God with your prayers. We are sadden by the lost of Deborah "Jill" Stone 53, of Scottsville, KY. Jill died 12-26-2007, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. The Allen County native was the owner and operator of Scottsville Tax Service. Survivors include her husband, Larry Stone; a son, Daniel Stone and his wife, Amy, of Scottsville; and two grandchildren, Damon and Aidan Stone, both of Scottsville. Jill was our Tax person and did many of the Turner's Taxes. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the Stone family. May God be with you!

The Turner Family has been singing for more than 41 years and is no stranger to gospel music, Originally, they started as a trio. It was James and Lois Turner and Thomas Allen, Lois Turner's brother. However, Thomas drop out of the trio, so then they picked up James Howard and sung for years. On August 2, 1975 the original Turner Family was formed with James, Lois and their two son's Odell and Tim Turner. After the resigning of both son's James and Lois continues on to sing and carry the word in song. It hasn't always been an easy road picking up new member's and losing them. Today, they are joined by Mike Hanner of Scottsville, KY. and Jay Phelps of Bowling Green, KY. The Turner Family has performed on T.V. stations, numerous revivals, and camp meetings. For several years they have sponsored their annual open-air singing at their home, have sung at local department stores, county fairs,singing conventions, and anywhere the Lord calls them to sing. They traveled in several states across the U.S. including Florida, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Hope to see you at a Church or event near you real soon!
